Aylen Pritchin is one of the most sought-after and versatile artists today. He performs repertoire spanning from early music to contemporary, playing on period and modern instruments.
Pritchin received numerous awards, including First Grand prize at the Long-Thibaud International Competition in Paris (2014).
Highlights of recent seasons include successful collaborations with major European orchestras: Scottish Chamber Orchestra (Brahms; Prokofiev 2), Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse (Prokofiev 2; Bruch 1), Orchestre de Chambre de Paris (Saint-Saëns 3), WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln (Beethoven), Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (Saint-Saëns 3 ; Prokofiev 2), Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Brahms), Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria (Schnittke 2), Il Pomo d’Oro (Mozart 3), Camerata Nordica (Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams, Desyatnikov, Beethoven), Sinfonia Varsovia (Mendelssohn).
In Asia, Pritchin’s invitations include such orchestras as the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra (Stravinsky), Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra (Williams; Stravinsky), Hong Kong Sinfonietta (Mendelssohn), Gunma Symphony Orchestra (Mozart 5) and the Taiwan Philharmonic Orchestra with Jun Märkl featuring Korngold violin concerto for two concerts in Taipei and Kaohsiung.
In May-June 2024, Aylen toured with the Haydn Philharmonic (Haydn concerti) for 7 concerts in China including concerts at the Oriental Arts Centre in Shanghai and the National Center of Performing Arts in Beijing.
Pritchin regularly works with conductors such as Maxim Emelyanychev, Teodor Currentzis, Christian Arming, Kiril Karabits, Barbara Dragan, Yip Wing-sie, Shao-Chia Lü, Michiyoshi Inoue, Cornelius Meister, Yuri Simonov, Dorian Wilson, Mikhail Gerts, Shlomo Mintz, Olivier Ochanine and Valentin Uryupin.
A keen chamber musician, his invitations include recitals at renowned festivals and venues: Wiener Konzerthaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Stockholm Musikaliska, Salzburg Mozarteum, Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall in Moscow, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Toppan Hall in Tokyo, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, SoNoRo Festival, La Folle Journée de Nantes, the Lockenhaus Kammermusikfest, collaborating with such artists as Maxim Emelyanychev, Lawrence Power, Nicolas Altstaedt and Olli Mustonen.
In December 2024, Pritchin will tour with pianist Maxim Emelyanychev et cellist Nicolas Altstaedt in a trio programme dedicated to Schumann including concerts at the Luxembourg Philharmonie (17 Dec), De Singel in Antwerp (18 Dec) and at the Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (20 Dec). Other highlights include his debut at the Bechstein Hall in London with pianist Rémi Geniet and a return at the Würzburg MozartFest for a chamber music programme (Mozart, Fauré, Dvorak) with cellist Florian Bartha and pianist Severin von Eckardstein in June 2025.
In 2019, the label Ad Vitam Records released a violin solo cd with some of the most significant works of the 20th century, including the first edition ever of Tema con 8 variazioni by Jean Françaix.
In 2021, Aylen and Maxim Emelyanychev's album dedicated to the Brahms Violin Sonatas and recorded on period instruments has been released on Aparté. The album has received glowing reviews.
In 2022 his CD “Debussy-Hahn-Stravinsky” with Lukas Geniusas has been released on Mirare Productions and awarded the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplaten Kritik” in Germany and a “Choc de Classica” in France. This release has been named among the "5 Classical Music Albums You Can Listen to Right Now" by the New York Times.
In 2023, Aylen recorded the Mozart violin concerto n°3 with Il Pomo d’Oro under Maxim Emelyanychev’s direction for Aparté. Date release in November 2024.
Aylen Pritchin is currently holding a teaching position at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
