Russian violinist Aylen Pritchin has, in recent years, firmly established himself as one of the most interesting and versatile rising stars on the international concert stage.

Born in Saint Petersburg, Aylen studied with Pr. Elena Zaitseva in his hometown and with Pr. Eduard Grach at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In 2014, Aylen was awarded at the Long-Thibaud International Competition First Prize and he is a former major prize winner at the Wieniawski, Tchaikovsky, Sion-Valais, Kreisler and Oistrakh International Violin Competitions.

His career has led him to perform in Russia and abroad, including Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Switlzerland, Vietnam and Japan; In such prestigious venues as the Vienna Konzerthaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Stockholm Musikaliska, Salzburg Mozarteum, Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall in Moscow and the Champs-Elysées Theatre in Paris.

As a soloist his recent invitations include the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, MusicAeterna Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Russian National Philharmonic, Poznan Philharmonic, Svetlanov Symphony, Transylvanian Philharmonic, Tatarstan National Orchestra, I Pomeriggi Orchestra and Orchestre de Cannes among others. He has regularly been invited by such conductors as Teodor Currentzis, Maxim Emelyanychev, Cornelius Meister, Mikhail Gerts, Valentin Uryupin, Yuri Simonov, Dorian Wilson and Shlomo Mintz.

Aylen equally enjoys playing chamber music with artists such as Maxim Emelyanychev, Lukas Geniusas, Yury Favorin, Alexander Melnikov, Maxim Rysanov, Vladimir Mendelssohn and David Geringas.

The 2019/20 season includes his return to the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra (Dvorak), the Omsk Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Dmitry Vasilyev as part of the Siberian Symphony Orchestra Festival, a tour in Germany with the Russian Chamber Orchestra and conductor Alexei Utkin and a Japan tour including a performance with the Osaka Philharmonic under Michiyoshi Inoue. Aylen’s major recital dates in the 2019/20 season include La Folle Journée in Nantes. In 2020/21 Aylen made his debut with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse (Prokofiev 2) and the Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria (Schnittke 2). He also played with the Radio Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the Saint-Petersburg Symphony, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. The 2021/22 season include Aylen’s debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic (Prokofiev 2 & Saint-Saëns 3) and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Brahms) as well as re-invitations with major orchestras such as the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse (Bruch 1), the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra (Sibelius) and the Taiwan National Symphony.

Highlights of the 2022/23 season include Aylen’s debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under their Principal conductor Maxim Emelyanychev in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He embarks on a tour in Asia for two more debuts: the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Christian Arming and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Yip Wing-sie. In June 2023, Aylen rejoins Maxim Emelyanychev in a performance of Mozart’s violin concerto n.5 in Wurtzburg with Il Pomo d’Oro

In recitals his invitations include a performance at the Hong Kong Concert Hall with pianist Rémi Geniet and at the Tokyo's Toppan Hall with pianist Tomoki Kitamura. In February 2023, Aylen returns at the Folle Journée de Nantes in three different programmes and in August 2023 he joins Maxim Emelyanychev for a duo performance at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

In December 2017 the Russian label Melodiya published Aylen Pritchin’s third album dedicated to Prokofiev ́s works for violin and piano with Yury Favorin. Two other albums include the Russian repertoires for violin and piano trio with Lukas Geniušas and Alexander Buzlov. In August 2019, the label Ad Vitam Records released a violin solo cd with some of the most important and significant works of the 20th century, including the first edition ever of Tema con 8 variazioni by Jean Françaix.

In December 2021, Aylen Pritchin and Maxim Emelyanychev's album dedicated to the Brahms Violin Sonatas and recorded on period instruments has been released on Aparté and has received glowing reviews. A new CD Debussy-Hahn-Stravinsky with Lukas Geniusas has been released in October 2022 on Mirare Productions.

In June 2023, Aylen will record the Mozart’s violin concerto n.5 with Maxim Emelyanychev and Il Pomo d’Oro.

Aylen is currently teaching at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
